About this event
Nordkraft Big Band presents an exceptional concert with Sinne Eeg and Jesper Lohmann. The eminent Danish author and poet Tom Kristensen is lovingly explored through a musical journey into his expressive universe. Together with Denmark’s uncrowned jazz queen, Sinne Eeg, and the seasoned actor Jesper Lohmann, Nordkraft Big Band invites the audience into Tom Kristensen’s world. Kristensen lived in the jazz age of 1920s–30s Copenhagen, when jazz set the tone, and as a true connoisseur he wrote about life, dreams, and grandeur. Now his poems are set to music, transporting us to the bustling bars and smoke-filled cafés for a poetic evening of swinging big band music and good cheer. On stage, Sinne Eeg and Jesper Lohmann appear with the fabulous Nordkraft Big Band under the Grammy-nominated conductor Peter Jensen, who has also arranged the music composed by Bjarne Sahl.
