Der Vogelhändler – Allee Theater, Hamburg

About this event

The staging relocates the action to an exclusive wellness resort awaiting the Elector. Spa, garden, and relaxation areas become the arenas where staff and guests confront old lies, assumed roles, and concealed wishes. Directed by Lars Wernecke with sets by Kathrin Kegler and costumes by Marie-Theres Cramer, the production is musically led and adapted by Ettore Prandi. Framed as a modern operetta about appearance and reality, power, morality, and honesty, the 1891 work is presented in a satirical lens focused on provincial society.
