Il Viaggio, Dante is a contemporary opera by Pascal Dusapin with a libretto by Frédéric Boyer after Dante Alighieri. The Hannover staging marks the German premiere of a work that debuted at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2022. Directed and choreographed by Claus Guth with a design team including Etienne Pluss (set), Gesine Völlm (costumes), Fabrice Kebour (lighting), and rocafilm (video), it is performed in Italian with German and English surtitles and runs approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. The production is a co-production and commission with Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Opéra national de Paris, Staatsoper Hannover, and Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg.
