About this event

Based on a poem by the South Korean writer Kim Chi-ha (1941–2022), this stage creation sets music by J. S. Bach, György Kurtág, Tōru Takemitsu, Olivier Messiaen, and Toshio Hosokawa in counterpoint with actor João Grosso and an intergenerational cast of movement performers. With artistic direction by Pedro Carneiro and Teresa Simas, and stage direction and choreography by Teresa Simas, the piece reflects on the body as archive and as history, drawing on memory and choreographic citation. The Portuguese Chamber Orchestra performs the music in dialogue with the action on stage.
