A concert presentation of Fanny Hensel’s 1841 piano cycle Das Jahr, performed by piano students of the Universität Mozarteum in the Wiener Saal, with an introductory lecture by musicologist Beatrix Borchard. The cycle’s twelve month-pieces (plus a concluding Nachspiel) are shared among ten pianists, reflecting Hensel’s Italian travel impressions in a sequence of characterful miniatures.
