About this event
A Baroque orchestral program by Neue Philharmonie Westfalen built around the historical violoncello da spalla. The ca. 60 cm instrument is played on the shoulder or with a neck strap rather than like a modern cello. The orchestra’s note cautiously suggests J. S. Bach may have used this type for his cello suites. Sergey Malov leads the concert and performs as soloist on violoncello da spalla.
