About this event
A symphonic choral program unites three settings of the liturgical praise “Gloria in excelsis Deo”: Vivaldi’s early 18th‑century Gloria, John Rutter’s 1974 Gloria, and Karl Jenkins’s 2010 Gloria. The forces are Neue Philharmonie Westfalen with the Choir of the Konzertgesellschaft Schwerte, the Concert Choir of the City of Kamen, and soloists from the Boys’ Choir Gütersloh, conducted by Maik Morgner. The City of Kamen listing additionally names Annika Rioux (soprano) and Andreas Elias Post (baritone) for the 15 November performance. Presented in concert form without scenic staging, the concept highlights contrasting musical idioms, instrumentation, and texts across three centuries.
