About this event

This recital pairs two French artists—cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and pianist Alexandre Tharaud—whose professional partnership spans three decades. The program is structured in two halves, opening with French repertoire (Poulenc's Suite française, a neo-classical arrangement drawing on 16th-century French dance forms) and a major Romantic work (Brahms's Cello Sonata No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 38) before pivoting to shorter works in the second half that traverse Renaissance, late-Romantic, and modernist idioms. The concert includes an embedded video of the artists on the event page. The Baker-Baum Concert Hall at The Conrad is an intimate space ideal for chamber music, with adjustable acoustics and state-of-the-art technology.
