About this event

ActeSix, an ensemble specializing in cross-disciplinary projects, highlights bridges between eras to shape a constellation-like musical form at the crossroads of early, contemporary, popular, and learned traditions. Berio’s Folk Songs pay tribute to oral traditions and roots, while Stockhausen’s Tierkreis charts a celestial, both mathematical and poetic, pathway. The ensemble weaves these two major 20th‑century works together with 17th‑century music, inviting us to rethink heritage, invention, and transmission. The concert sets periods and languages in dialogue to reveal the permanence of human questions — between popular orality and astral mysticism, written tradition and invention. The Conservatoire Auditorium Albert Roussel is part of Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing’s residency program: a place dedicated to creating and sharing early and contemporary music, conceived as a space for encounters between artists, works, and local audiences.
