The first chamber concert of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe’s 2026/27 season bears the programmatic subtitle “From Europe to South America,” charting a musical journey from 19th‑century European piano‑chamber repertoire to 20th‑century South American chamber music. It opens with the early Piano Trio Op. 15 by the German composer and piano pedagogue Luise Adolpha Le Beau, followed by Beethoven’s popular “Gassenhauer” Trio Op. 11. With Miguel Del Águila’s Tango Trio Op. 71, Alberto Ginastera’s Pampeana II Op. 21 for cello and piano, and Heitor Villa‑Lobos’s first Piano Trio, the program shifts to the South American continent, spanning a musical‑geographical arc between the two worlds.
