With the production of “Nathan the Wise,” author and director Kristo Šagor introduces himself to audiences as the new Head of Young Theatre. Award-winning writer Lena Gorelik has created a new version of Lessing’s classic for Heidelberg, bringing the story into the present and asking which prejudices concern us today. Recha reads the news and concludes: we live in a broken world. But her mother Daja is only interested in whether she tidies her room. And her father Nathan believes he is doing good by telling people an educational story about three rings. That is not enough for Recha—she wants to get politically involved. But her parents have reservations.
