Auf Ein Wort – Essen Philharmonie, Essenbach

About this event

“Auf ein Wort” is the Theater und Philharmonie Essen’s recurring pre-concert talk: a 30-minute introduction presented in the Alfried Krupp Saal immediately before the evening concert. On 17 October 2026 it is scheduled at 18:30 and leads into Igor Levit’s recital “Alles Beethoven I,” which starts at 19:00. The talk is part of the Philharmonie Essen subscription context and provides musical and historical background to the Beethoven sonatas heard in the main concert. For the 2026/27 season, “Alles Beethoven!” is a regional project in North Rhine-Westphalia marking the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death in March 2027. No specific speaker is named for this date in public materials. Advance ticket sales for the season began on 13 June 2026 at 10:00.
