Halloween im Turm is a family concert in MDR Klassik’s 2026/2027 season, part of the MDR Family Concerts. The MDR Children’s Choir leads a spooky-and-beautiful Halloween programme with 21 songs about witches, ghosts, skeletons and other night creatures. The unusual band of instruments—piano, percussion, double bass, theremin, flute and saxophone—creates classic horror atmospheres, with the theremin bringing a vintage sci-fi chill to the hall. Audience participation is encouraged throughout, and moderator Karina Schoenbeck-Götz guides children and families through the one-hour musical ghost ride. The same programme exists as a 21-song audio edition on ARD Sounds and the ARD Mediathek.
