About this event

The 2026 edition of the International Music Festival Varna Summer marks the festival's centenary, founded in 1926 in Varna, Bulgaria. As the official closing event of this anniversary edition, the BBC Symphony Orchestra London makes its first-ever visit to Varna. Resident orchestra of the BBC Proms and a driving force in British musical life for over 90 years, the BBC Symphony Orchestra appears under its chief conductor Sakari Oramo. The programme pairs Antonín Dvořák's Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 33, with soloist Francesco Piemontesi, and Edward Elgar's Symphony No. 1. The concert is held under the honorary patronage of H.E. Nathaniel Copsey, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bulgaria, underscoring the cultural and diplomatic significance of the orchestra's debut in Varna.
