La Bohème is an opera in four acts by Giacomo Puccini, with a libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. Since its premiere, the truthful portrait of a group of young Parisian artists has moved audiences, showing how they face precarious social conditions with wit and creativity. At its heart is the fragile love between the poet Rodolfo and the seamstress Mimì, a passion that ultimately cannot defy death. Puccini’s immortal music fuses grand emotions with everyday realism, creating moments of tender intimacy as well as opulent crowd scenes with chorus and children’s chorus. It is an invitation to be touched and enchanted by this timeless masterpiece about love, friendship, and the price of being an artist. Performed in Italian with German surtitles.
