About this event

A symphonic concert themed around Halloween and the supernatural, presented by the Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice Foundation in Genoa. Conductor Massimo Zanetti leads violinist Giulio Plotino and the orchestra through a curated program of evocative works inspired by witches, sorcery, and the darker corners of classical music. The repertoire ranges from late-Romantic symphonic poems to opera choruses and ballet music, including Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Verdi’s Witches’ Chorus from Macbeth, Saint-Saëns’s Danse macabre and the Bacchanale from Samson et Dalila, Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King from Peer Gynt, Puccini’s La tregenda from Le Villi, Paganini’s Le streghe Op. 8 for solo violin, Falla’s El círculo mágico and the Ritual Fire Dance from El amor brujo, and Stravinsky’s Infernal Dance and Finale from The Firebird.
