– Baltic Opera, Gdańsk

About this event

An exceptional work is being created on a special commission from the Baltic Opera—an opera with a libretto based on Paweł Huelle’s Weiser Dawidek, one of the most important novels of contemporary Polish literature. It is a story about memory, coming of age, and mystery, set against the extraordinary landscape of Gdańsk. The premiere staging will combine Huelle’s literary poetics with the language of contemporary opera, inviting audiences into a world where reality constantly intertwines with legend. The music is being composed by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, with the libretto prepared by Anna Czekanowicz. The production is directed by Romuald Wicza-Pokojski.
