About this event

This is a concert performance of Ambroise Thomas’s grand opera Hamlet, presented by Chelsea Opera Group (COG). Conducted by Jonathon Cole-Swinard in his COG debut, the event features the Chelsea Opera Group Chorus and Orchestra alongside professional soloists, with English surtitles for an opera sung in French. Three closed orchestra rehearsals take place in October at the Warehouse (13 Theed St, South Bank), followed by tutti rehearsals leading to the public concert at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 5:30pm. A pre-concert talk by Simon Bainbridge is scheduled at 4:15pm the same day. Founded in 1950, COG is a London-based amateur chorus and orchestra dedicated to reviving neglected nineteenth-century operas and alternative versions of familiar works, sustained by box office income and donations.
