About this event
A fast-paced comedy classic about resistance in dark times and the power of theatre. Nick Whitby’s stage version, based on Ernst Lubitsch’s film, shows how a Warsaw ensemble in 1939 uses wit, disguise and theatrical savvy to push back against censorship, occupation and terror. Directed by Naemi Friedmann (also sound design), the production pairs Sarah Wolters’ unified set and costumes with lightning-quick role changes by the entire cast. Dramaturgy by David Czesienski and Oliver Lisewski. A TOG production of the Landestheater Mecklenburg, performed in Neustrelitz and at the Schauspielhaus Neubrandenburg.
