In the deft chamber play "Egal," the living room of Simone and Erik becomes the stage for a highly comic yet unsettling struggle over a radically egalitarian marriage. Every word can spark an explosion, and every phone call can literally turn the situation upside down. The Neubrandenburg staging of Marius von Mayenburg’s "Egal" is directed by Theater Director David Czesienski. Presented as a double premiere with the play "Der Block," it shares the set and costume design by Antonia Bitter and dramaturgy by Oliver Lisewski. While the piece premiered at Berlin’s Schaubühne in January 2026 under the author’s own direction, the Neubrandenburg staging is an independent production featuring ensemble member Susan Ihlenfeld and Leon Ullrich as the couple Simone and Erik.
