Der Block is a stage adaptation of Jérôme Leroy’s novel Le Bloc. Announced as a world premiere at Schauspielhaus Neubrandenburg, it launches as a double premiere with Marius von Mayenburg’s Egal. The minimalist two-hander centers on Antoine, slated to become a cabinet minister in France’s first far-right government, and Stanko, the party’s longtime paramilitary enforcer. Over a single fateful night in Paris, their confrontation unfolds. Directed by David Czesienski, with set and costumes by Antonia Bitter and dramaturgy by Oliver Lisewski. Produced in-house by Theater und Orchester Neubrandenburg Neustrelitz for the 2026/27 season. Some dates appear as the double bill “Egal / Der Block,” others as standalone performances of Der Block.
