Houston Grand Opera’s Saturday Nights Series D bundles six Saturday-evening performances—one of each mainstage production in the 2026–27 season—at the Brown Theater, Wortham Theater Center. Rather than a single concept, the subscription spans six distinct stagings with different directors, conductors, and casts: Patricia Racette leads a new American staging of Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah; David McVicar’s dance-infused Faust reimagines the title character as a Belle Époque composer; Kaneza Schaal unveils a vibrant new Aida marking 40 years since the opera opened the Wortham; Renaud Doucet and André Barbe recast The Magic Flute in a whimsical 19th‑century hotel; Bruno Ravella transports Der Rosenkavalier to chic 1950s Vienna; and Francesca Zambello revives the sweeping, operatic-scale Show Boat. Four conductors make their HGO debuts, and the international casts feature several company debuts and role debuts.
