Houston Grand Opera's Opening Nights subscription series (Series A) packages the opening night of each of the company's six 2026–27 productions into a single discounted subscription. Each opera or musical is a fully staged, distinct production with its own director, conductor, design team, and principal cast; the series label exists mainly for ticketing and subscriber benefits rather than as an artistic umbrella. The season launches with Carlisle Floyd's Susannah in a new staging by Patricia Racette, followed by David McVicar's Faust, Kaneza Schaal's new Aida, Renaud Doucet and André Barbe's whimsical Magic Flute, Bruno Ravella's Der Rosenkavalier set in 1950s Vienna, and Francesca Zambello's Show Boat. All six productions are presented in the Brown Theater at the Wortham Theater Center, with projected English translations/text for non-English works.
