The family concert "Lasst uns froh und munter sein!" is part of MDR Klassik’s 2026/27 MDR Familienkonzerte series and is scheduled for St Nicholas Day (6 December). The MDR Children’s Choir and the MDR Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alexander Schmitt, present Christmas songs from Germany and around the world. The program offers a multilingual, multicultural journey through global Christmas traditions, with traditional carols heard in fresh and sometimes surprising arrangements.
