About this event

Houston Grand Opera presents a dance-infused staging of Charles Gounod’s Faust by visionary director David McVicar. Set in Belle Époque Paris, the production reimagines Faust as a tormented composer who bargains with Méphistophélès for youth and sensual pleasure. The HGO presentation is a co-production with the Royal Ballet and Opera (Covent Garden), Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Opéra de Lille, and Teatro Verdi Trieste, carrying forward the acclaimed Royal Opera House designs by set designer Charles Edwards, costume designer Brigitte Reiffenstuel, and lighting designer Paule Constable, with choreography by Michael Keegan-Dolan. Giacomo Sagripanti makes his HGO debut leading the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra. Content advisory: adult content and a gunshot.
