This staging of The Nutcracker at Teatro Carlo Felice features the Astana Opera Ballet alongside the Orchestra and Children's Choir of the Teatro Carlo Felice. Conductor Arman Urazgaliev leads the performances, with Yuri Grigorovich’s choreography revived by Ruslan Pronin. Sets are by Simon Virsaladze and costumes by Lyudmila Ius and Elena Netsvetaeva-Dolgaleva; the children's choir is prepared by Gino Tanasini. As a classic Christmas-season ballet, the production follows Tchaikovsky’s score and the familiar tale of a young girl whose Christmas Eve gift of a nutcracker opens a dream journey—from a battle with the Mouse King to the Kingdom of Sweets and the famed Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. The engagement runs from the evening of 3 December 2026 through the afternoon and evening of 6 December 2026, with two performances on both Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December.
