About this event
The Magical Opera Suitcase is a children’s opera co-produced by Opera Østfold and Opera til folket, presented as part of Opera Østfold’s Children’s Sunday series in Halden. Designed for the whole family and recommended for ages 3–4 and up, it runs about 45 minutes without interval, followed by creative crafts, a short tour of the theatre, and an open café. Artistic concept: well-known opera melodies form the musical framework and are woven into a new story, making opera accessible and engaging for young audiences. The show includes interactive moments where the audience helps move the plot forward. Co-produced with Opera til folket—an organisation dedicated to lowering the threshold for opera—this format is adapted to local stages beyond Oslo. Photo credit: Frederik Garshol.
