About this event
Our favorite childhood books and their small and big heroes stay with us for a lifetime. In “Klang-Geschichten” (Sound Stories), musicians share their personal childhood treasures in the Festsaal of the Philharmonie Essen. Classics of children’s literature are not only read aloud but lovingly and individually illustrated with music. Young and old are invited to listen to words and music together, discover something new, or rediscover something familiar. For the opening edition, Eduardo Rodriguez Romanos, principal double bassist of the Essener Philharmoniker, brings Janosch’s beloved classic “Oh, wie schön ist Panama.” The narration is by Anja Renczikowski, who also devised the series concept. Recommended for children aged three to six. Part of the “Philharmonie entdecken” program. Subscription pre-sale for the 26/27 season began on 13 June 2026; single tickets cost 12.00 EUR.
