About this event

“Old Songs – New Sounds” is the Aalto Children and Youth Choir’s concert for the 2026/27 season. The choir teams up with a jazz trio (piano, double bass, drums) to present traditional German folk songs in freely improvised arrangements. Choral director Patrick Jaskolka leads the performance. The musical points of reference include folk songs and contemporary choral arrangements by, among others, Jan-Hendrik Herrmann and Oliver Gies. This Sunday-morning matinee takes place in the Aalto Foyer and is aimed especially at families and the education audience.
