“Little Table, Set Thyself!” is a family play written and directed by Daniel Cremer, based on the well-known Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Developed specifically for Theater Aachen’s 2026/27 season, the new staging premieres on the main stage (Großes Haus). The production features live music by Malcolm Kemp and includes Theater Aachen’s Children’s and Youth Choir. Set and costume design are by Lex Hymer, with dramaturgy by Dominic Friedel. Director and performance artist Daniel Cremer (born 1983 in Mönchengladbach) previously worked at Theater Aachen in the 2024/25 season, including as co-director of the semi-opera The Indian Queen after Purcell with Ecuador’s Colectivo Yama. He has also created family-oriented productions at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Junges Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf. Cremer’s practice focuses on experiential spaces that foster intimate encounters between performers and audience—an approach that shapes this new family production.
