Part of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin’s 2026/27 symphonic series, this guest appearance at the Philharmonie Berlin (in cooperation with Deutschlandfunk Kultur) frames three vocal works with symphonies by Mozart (No. 34 in C major, K. 338) and Robert Schumann (No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120, original 1841 version). At the center stands Haydn’s dramatic Scena di Berenice (Hob. XXIVa:10) on a text by Metastasio, complemented by two Heine settings by Clara Schumann—“Ich stand in dunklen Träumen,” Op. 13 No. 1, and “Lorelei”—orchestrated by David A. Rahbee. Conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock, the concert features French mezzo-soprano Eva Zaïcik. The pre-concert talk starts at 19:15, the concert at 20:00.
