About this event
The “CJD Orchestra Concert” is a guest performance within the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation’s programme and takes place in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie. The presenting and performing ensemble is the orchestra of the Christian Youth Village Association of Germany (CJD), a youth symphony orchestra founded in 1983 and led by conductor Christof Harr since 1997. The orchestra brings together about 50–60 young instrumentalists with an average age of around 17 for four intensive rehearsal periods each year; each period culminates in a concert at the Berlin Philharmonie. This 2026 concert presents the CJD Orchestra in the Chamber Music Hall, joined by four professional horn soloists. The evening is framed by two works by Schubert, with Schumann’s Concert Piece for Four Horns and Orchestra, Op. 86, at its centre.
