About this event
The Casual Concert is a hybrid concert-club format created by the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) with conductor Ingo Metzmacher. Now in the 2026/2027 season, it remains a signature DSO offering that blends a moderated choral-symphonic concert in the Philharmonie’s Great Hall with a post-concert Casual Concert Lounge featuring a live act and DJ in the foyer. On 09 October 2026, Ingo Metzmacher returns as both conductor and host, introducing the music from the stage. The programme pairs Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms with Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. The concert takes place in the Großer Saal of the Philharmonie Berlin. After the performance, the foyer transforms into the Casual Concert Lounge. Over more than 15 years, DSO’s Casual Concerts have become a flagship format, bridging Berlin’s club culture and classical music for a broad audience.
