About this event
The Berliner Philharmoniker’s Originalklang (Authentic Sound) series opens the 2026/27 season with a complete traversal of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos by Bach Collegium Japan under Masato Suzuki, in the intimate Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie Berlin. Performed on period instruments and with chamber forces, the programme highlights historically informed practice and the vivid contrasts among the six concertos. Bach Collegium Japan appears as a guest ensemble at the invitation of the Berliner Philharmoniker. The event lasts approximately two hours and thirty minutes, reflecting a single-evening journey through the entire cycle. Masato Suzuki, Principal Conductor of BCJ, leads the ensemble known for its international profile and acclaimed recordings on the BIS label.
