About this event
Presented within the Wiener Konzerthaus’s Mittagsmusik series in the intimate Schubert-Saal, this one-hour lunchtime recital (12:30–approx. 13:30) focuses entirely on the historic left-hand-alone piano repertoire. Nicholas McCarthy, noted for championing this literature, contrasts a large-scale Romantic sonata with lyric miniatures and a grand Bach–Brahms transcription, including his own left-hand arrangement of Ravel’s Pavane. Curated by the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft, the concert highlights the venue’s chamber-music tradition and is offered alongside optional dining at the in-house restaurant.
