About this event
STUCK is the first choreographic piece by waacking icon Mounia Nassangar, who founded cie.nassangar in 2023. Developed in the wake of a burnout, it unfolds in five acts for five performers. After an original all-female cast in 2024, the (UNDER)GROUND 2026 reissue features an all-male quintet as a gesture of remembrance toward the racialized gay men who invented whacking. Xavier Lescat’s scenography and lighting evoke a high-rise garage with exposed piping and concrete floors, while costumes and styling by Lydie Tarragon and Nassangar meet a sound world by Lucie Béguin, created with beatmaker Mac L’Arnaque. Winner of the 2024 Danse élargie First Prize, the piece is supported by Collectif FAIR-E / CCN de Rennes et de Bretagne and premiered in Rennes on 19 June 2024.
