The production “The Time Machine” is an interdisciplinary, multimedia live performance based on H. G. Wells’s 1895 science-fiction novel. Conceived and directed by multi-percussionist Stefan Weinzierl, the show has toured since 2021 in adaptable formats, from fulldome planetariums to traditional theatre stages. In Meiningen it is presented in the Kammerspiele. Three artists share the stage: actor Mark Waschke embodies the anonymous Time Traveller, combining precise narration with physical performance; Stefan Weinzierl creates a driving, atmospheric live soundtrack on percussion, vibraphone and electronics; visual artist Rocco Helmchen designs immersive imagery, projected on theatre screens or as 360° dome visuals in planetariums. Text, music and visuals fuse into a cohesive, high-impact experience. Running time is approximately 90 minutes plus interval.
