The second concert of the Slovenian Philharmonic’s SOS (Contemporary Orchestral Works) subscription in 2026/27 presents three contemporary orchestral pieces performed by the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra under German conductor Peter Rundel. The evening features the world premiere of a new commission by Slovenia‑born composer Klara Mlakar, titled “Tell me about your Mother,” inspired by an intimate conversation with her mother about mortality and remembrance, weaving her melodies, lullabies, and recorded voice. Framing the premiere are Christophe Bertrand’s Vertigo (2007), a powerful concerto for two pianos and orchestra performed by the renowned GrauSchumacher Piano Duo, and Enno Poppe’s Strom (2024), an orchestral work of layered, evolving textures. Hosted in Gallus Hall at Cankarjev dom, the concert is paired with a pre‑concert talk and a post‑concert gathering with the artists.
