Conducted by Alessandro Palumbo and performed by the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali and the Choir OperaLombardia, the production highlights Rossini’s comic engines—buoyant rhythms, sparkling crescendos, and virtuosic vocal fireworks—balancing the work’s opera buffa energy with the elegance of dramma giocoso. The theatre’s note evokes a comic mechanism of “organized madness,” driven by pace, irony, and vocal bravura rather than a literalistic staging concept.
