About this event

LA FRENCH TOUCH is a public "concert-rencontre" presented as an open master class within Opera Fuoco’s Concerts-rencontres series. Soprano Annick Massis, a renowned specialist of this repertoire, coaches the young soloists of the Atelier lyrique Opera Fuoco through highlights from Rossini and Donizetti. The program explores how Italian bel canto practice met French lyric theatre in Paris after the Napoleonic era, when Rossini and Donizetti created works that fused French declamation with Italian virtuosity and helped shape the grand opéra tradition. Across several days of workshop, the encounter culminates in a final public performance mixing demonstration, coaching, and performance extracts drawn from Le Comte Ory, Guillaume Tell, Lucie de Lammermoor, and La Fille du régiment.
