A symphonic-choral concert presented by Fundación Excelentia as part of its 2026/27 "Grandes Clásicos" series in the Sala Sinfónica of Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional de Música. The non-profit foundation focuses on promoting musical heritage and features its own Sociedad Coral Excelentia de Madrid together with the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia, under the regular direction of Kynan Johns—this time pairing a full symphony with a major sacred oratorio. Conductor Kynan Johns leads both orchestra and chorus, joined by a quartet of vocal soloists (soprano, mezzo, tenor, bass), the standard configuration for Mozart’s Requiem. The two-part program opens with Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major "Rhenish," Op. 97 (1850), and closes with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, K. 626, completed by his pupil Franz Xaver Süssmayr. Fundación Excelentia has presented this work annually since at least 2023 as a fixture at the start of November at the Auditorio Nacional.
