Sorry – A Requiem is a cross‑disciplinary stage work that fuses spoken text, live vocals and original music within a requiem framework. The idea emerged in May 2024 when composer‑musician Kjetil Bjerkestrand, approaching 70, felt that his generation—men over seventy—owed humanity an apology for inaction in the face of climate crisis, injustice, hunger and poverty. He invited actor‑writer Svein Tindberg to collaborate; Tindberg wrote new texts, serious yet laced with humor and irony, while Bjerkestrand composed music drawing on classical, rock and jazz to cradle the words in a reflective sonic world. On stage, the core trio—text reading (Tindberg), piano/keys (Bjerkestrand), and voice (Beate S. Lech)—is joined by guitar (Eivind Aarset) and drums/percussion (Erland Dahlen). The staging is intentionally minimal and presented in a concert format, though it is also framed and marketed as theatre.
