Sorry — A Requiem is a concert-based stage work created by composer-musician Kjetil Bjerkestrand and actor/author Svein Tindberg, blending spoken text, vocals, and instrumental music. The piece grew from a May 2024 idea: that Bjerkestrand’s generation—men over seventy—owes humanity an apology for passivity toward the climate crisis and injustice, and for decades of poor, sometimes immoral choices. Structured as a requiem, Tindberg’s texts move between gravity, humor, and irony. Tindberg reads, Bjerkestrand performs on piano/keys and composed the music, and singer Beate S. Lech provides a central vocal line. Drawing on classical, rock, and jazz influences, the production adapts its ensemble to each venue. The Kilden presentation is the trio version.
