MON AMI MOZART is a concert-fantasy conceived and performed by Jean-François Zygel—renowned pianist, composer and improviser—artist-in-residence at the Opéra de Tours for the 2026–2027 season. Part of the “Nouveaux Horizons” series, the evening offers a free-ranging journey through Mozart’s world, from famous pages to rarities, blending interpretation and improvisation, in solo and with orchestra. Zygel assumes the dual role of soloist and architect of the improvised moments, while the Orchestre Région Centre-Val de Loire/Tours performs under the baton of Patrick-Marie Aubert. The compact format (1h30 without intermission) is designed for a broad audience, uniting connoisseurs and newcomers alike, in the spirit of music-theatre Zygel has long developed on radio and television. Presented at the Grand Théâtre de Tours with reserved seating, this event opens the “My friend…” cycle, which will also feature Beethoven, Bach and other composers throughout the season.
