A family concert co-created by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and youth music theater company Oorkaan, Tarantula (6+) turns chamber music into an engaging theatrical experience for children aged 6 and up. Directed by Caecilia Thunnissen, the show blends live performance by a chamber ensemble of Concertgebouw Orchestra musicians with expressive storytelling by actor Charlene Sancho. Scenography by Tessa Verbei and lighting by Desiree van Gelderen shape a playful stage world, while a special arrangement by Lionel Ziblat adapts Camille Saint-Saëns’s music for the ensemble and the story.
