On the stage of Auditorium Pollini in Padua, the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, the historic Milan ensemble founded in 1945 and resident at Teatro Dal Verme, performs a program titled Strauss Waltzes, featuring a selection of famous waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family—central figures in 19th-century Viennese musical life and architects of the so-called symphonic waltz. The concert is conducted by rising Italian conductor Nicolò Jacopo Suppa.
