About this event

Schnittke’s choral masterwork and the singing cello talent Hadewych van Gent enchant with spiritual laments and enveloping sound fields. The Concertgebouw presents these four works in a single afternoon program as a choir concert within the NTR ZaterdagMatinee ‘Vocaal’ series. The program combines a Netherlands premiere by Samy Moussa (double choir) with a Netherlands premiere by Missy Mazzoli (cello and tape), a work by Ernst Reijseger (cello and voice), and the monumental finale, Alfred Schnittke’s Concerto for Choir. The performance features the Netherlands Radio Choir conducted by Benjamin Goodson, with Hadewych van Gent as cello soloist. The concert includes an intermission.
