Programmed by Het Concertgebouw’s in-house series “Wereldberoemde Strijkkwartetten,” this chamber recital in the Kleine Zaal brings the Pavel Haas Quartet back to the venue where they are frequent guests. In the intimate Recital Hall—cherished for its warm acoustics and close contact between musicians and audience—the ensemble performs three late-Romantic and early-modern string quartets that reflect a shared Central/Eastern European heritage. Janáček’s First Quartet (“Kreutzer”) and Korngold’s Second Quartet (Op. 26) illuminate early 20th‑century currents, while Dvořák’s much-loved “American” Quartet (Op. 96) anchors the evening with its lyrical synthesis of Czech musical DNA and New World impressions. The concert is presented with a traditional chamber format (no staging), includes an intermission, and offers tiered ticket categories with drinks included; under‑30 sprint tickets may be released four hours before the start.
