About this event
Het Concertgebouw presents the Amsterdam debut of Hong Kong pianist Aristo Sham in the Recital Hall (Kleine Zaal), within the series Great Pianists in the Recital Hall. Centered on Brahms’s Piano Sonatas Nos. 1 (Op. 1) and 2 (Op. 2), the program is inspired by Robert Schumann’s famed 1853 endorsement of the 19‑year‑old composer. The sonatas are framed by solo piano works by Bach and Chopin, with Schumann also referenced in the curatorial concept. The concert lasts approximately two hours and twenty minutes including an intermission; drinks are included.
