Zing En Ontdek Messiah – Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam

Sing and Discover: Messiah is a four-evening vocal discovery course run by Het Concertgebouw’s Education & Participation division (season 2026–2027). The emphasis is on musical experience: learning Handel’s Messiah from the inside by singing selected choruses yourself. Course leader Hans Veldhuizen guides participants with context and background while fostering active listening and singing. The course is open and welcoming to all—experienced choral singers, enthusiastic bathroom soloists, and absolute beginners; no prior knowledge required. Each evening includes a break and drinks are included. Single evening: €24 (plus €5 per-order transaction fee); full series: €96. Sessions take place in the Koorzaal (Choir Hall), an intimate, acoustically suitable room. This is a didactic, participatory format rather than a traditional concert, and part of the wider ‘Zing en Ontdek’ series.
